The “BHPT” library is a private research facility established in 1998 from the former central library of the Ministry of Telecommunications. It has a collection of over 100,000 historic books and documents. The facility is operated jointly by France Telecom and the French Postal service La Poste with a staff of 4 librarians and accommodation for up to 5 researchers at a time.

Following the construction works, designed and supervised by SAGL, the library is now open in a former printworks on rue Pelleport in the north of Paris. The premises consists of around 1000 square metres, on two floors, of offices, book storage and a reading room.
